Deputies have charged a Putnam County man after he allegedly turned in his cellphone for repairs and employees at the nTelos Wireless store found that it contained sexually explicit images involving minors.
Raymond Edward Wilkinson, 64, who has an address at Wilkie Road in Red House, faces five counts of distribution, possession and exhibition of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Putnam Magistrate Court. Each count is for a different image allegedly found on his cellphone.
The complaint states an nTelos manager said Wilkinson had dropped off his unlocked iPhone and gave employees consent to go through it to make repairs. An employee then discovered the images.
Putnam Circuit Court granted a search warrant to the sheriff's department to have the phone examined, the complaint states.
Wilkinson is being held at Western Regional Jail on $200,000 bail.
