WINFIELD - The Putnam County Board of Education approved four retirements at its meeting on Monday.

Poca High School's athletic director Alan Osborne will be retiring at the end of the school year. Additionally, Poca High School's assistant baseball coach Seth Ramsey, Poca Middle School's assistant boys track coach Brenda Marshall and George Washington Middle School assistant wrestling coach Jeneva Crum announced their retirements.

Superintendent Chuck Hatfield confirmed that Putnam County Schools did well in an audit performed by the Office of Educational Performance Audit in December. The audit was approved by the state board and Hatfield said the school district did well, as he suspected.

"Overall we did very well," Hatfield said. "There are always some areas to improve on."

After the exit interviews for the audits, Hatfield said he thought the district did well and that the audits were satisfactory.

According to the report, not a single school in the district received an unsatisfactory rating in any category.
