A teenager was seriously injured in a car crash Saturday in Putnam County.
Putnam County sheriff's deputies said in a statement that the young man was traveling Poca River Road at about 5 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle ran off the right edge of the road.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the road, with the vehicle going airborne. He struck a tree about 6 feet above the ground, according to the news release.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle, and was removed with emergency equipment. He was flown to a local hospital.
