A Putnam County man charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Hurricane-area woman will not fight being returned to West Virginia to face his charges.

Philip David Casto, 33, was taken into custody by police in Massachusetts on Friday. Monday, he declared to the court that he would not fight extradition back to West Virginia, according to David Traub, spokesman for the Norfolk District Attorney's Office in Massachusetts.

A judge for the Quincy District Court ordered that Casto be held without bail until he is returned to West Virginia.

Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese said his agency is currently planning for a couple deputies to make the trip to Massachusetts to return Casto to the state.

Jennifer Evans, 27, was found dead in her home at 417 Sevilla Drive on Thursday afternoon.

Deweese is still not releasing a motive.

"I know it, but I'm not releasing it at this time," Deweese said.
