The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department will hold its second Putnam County naloxone training on Monday at the Hurricane Church of Christ.
The training, which centers on how to administer the drug naloxone to a person who has overdosed on opioids, will be held at 7 p.m. at the church, located at 600 Midland Trail in Hurricane. Those who complete the training will be eligible to receive an EVZIO naloxone auto-injector from the health department.
"This training is particularly important for the loved ones of those who might experience an opioid overdose," said Dr. Michael Brumage, health officer for the KCHD. "This training could allow a person to save a loved one's life."
The training is free. For more information, call 304-348-6493.
