Repairs to a bridge over Interstate 64 in Putnam County will begin Wednesday night and continue through the end of the month.
The bridge carries W.Va. 34 over the interstate at Teays Valley. It was damaged in April when a truck with an oversize load truck struck a bridge beam, according to a news release from the state Division of Highways. One lane of the bridge has been closed since.
Workers will begin repairs on the damaged portion of the bridge at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Repairs will be made from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday until Aug. 31, when the project is expected to be completed, according to the news release.
Orders Construction Company was given a $242,026 contract to repair the bridge, the release said.
The right southbound lane of W.Va. 34 will remain closed, and one lane of I-64 will be closed each night.
